Meet Kiran Sethi, educator and founder of the Riverside School in Ahmedabad. She believes in kids and creating schools that honor them…
“if education is embedded in a real world context — blurring the boundaries between school and life — then children go through a journey of Aware (where they can see the change), Enable (be changed), and Empower (lead the change).”… “When adults believe in children and say ‘you can!’ then they will.”
I belive this is true for all learners, no matter what age, race, or nationality. Education has to happen both inside and outside the classroom. It must, if we are to survive as a species.
So what’s stopping us from creating these kinds of schools and learning environments all over the US? What must we change to make this happen here?
